Passionate about architecture and dedicated to the creation of thriving, purposeful communities, Peter is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience, having studied and worked in Australia, the UK, the USA, and Asia. As the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Novum, Peter has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s client-centric approach to architecture since its establishment in 2017.

Peter’s passion for community architecture (encompassing schools, churches, and community centres) has been a driving force throughout his career. He firmly believes that understanding the underlying principles behind education and learning spaces is crucial for good design, ultimately leading to better learning outcomes. This philosophy has cultivated a culture at Novum that prioritises listening to clients and effectively understanding their needs.

In pursuit of enhancing learning environments, Peter developed the LEASA App, a tool designed to assist educational facilities in determining how their spaces are actually being used. This innovative app has been adopted by university researchers, contributing valuable insights that shape architectural and client decisions, resulting in the creation of practical, workable spaces for both students and educators.

Peter is a Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) in the UK and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Before founding Novum, Peter served as a Director at Bickerton Masters, overseeing a diverse range of projects in New South Wales and Queensland. His responsibilities ranged from client briefing to project handover, with a portfolio that included projects varying in value from $200K to $50M, collaborating with industry-leading clients.

Peter’s leadership style is characterised by a nurturing and compassionate approach, and he is deeply passionate about mentoring the next generation of architects.  Peter’s extensive experience, innovative mindset, and commitment to community-centric design make him a driving force behind Novum’s success.
